About Santiago

Unlike some people, I like Santiago city. I like above all Ñuñoa, Providencia and Santiago´s center. I like these areas because in Ñuñoa and Providencia there are a lot of beautiful parks and the streets are surrounded of big trees, and sidewalks are wide and well lighting. The parks in this area are my favorites, above all Sculpture´s Park in Providencia.

In Santiago´s center there are a lot of historical places like Londres 38, that was a torture center in dictatorial period of Chile, or the house of government, etc. Also there are a lot of bars, restaurants, different kind of shops, etc.

Well, there are horrible things too, like inequality, smog, traffic issues and other social problems like drug trafficking, poverty, etc.

Inequality is the social problem that I hate most in Santiago. We can say that Santiago is a city of ghettos, because the areas in the city are so demarcate by social status and money. In Santiago there are areas for poor class, middle class, and hight class. But this situation only shows the kind of society that we are. I think it is not a problem of the city, is a problem of our society.
I think those are the things that we have to change of our city, but first we have to change society.

My ambition (or one of them)

One of my ambitions is travel to Perú and visit Machu Pichu. Last summer I traveld to Bolivia and Perú, and the plan was visit Bolivia in first place, and then visit Cusco, Perú to realize the trip to Machu but I could only visit Cusco, because I stayed a few days more in Bolivia and spent more money than I expected, so, I decided to visit Sacred Valley, in Cusco which is a cheeper journey than Machu Pichu trip. So, travel to Machu is a kind of debt to me, because I wanted to visit so much that wonderful place and I couldn’t do it.
I would like to travel to Machu because I like to visit historical places, like ruins and know about Inca civilization that was one of the most important civilizations in the “new world”.
Now I’m saving money to realize this trip in the next summer, but this time the first place that I’m going to visit will be Machu Pichu.

Favourite song at the moment

One of the songs that I like at the moment is “The pretender” of Foo Fighters. It is a very powerful song, and I like so much.
The first time that I heard it was a month ago, when I was listening in You Tube another song of this band named “These Days”.
I heard “These Days” while I was driving the car of my grandfather. I didn’t know Foo Fighters before that, so the song started and I think “these guys are good”. I remember that Rock and Pop radio always plays the song so I always tune in that radio station. One day I decided to search more songs of Foo Fighters in You Tube and I found “The Pretender”.
“The Pretender” liked to me instantly, because is very powerful song and I like so much the sound of the guitars and the drum. Generally, when I listen English music I don’t pay attention to lyrics, because I like most about it are rhythms and how it sounds. So, that’s the reason that I like that much “The pretender”, its sounds is amazing.

If you want also hear These Days, here is the song:

The Photograph

This picture brings me very good memories about the place that where it was taken. And that is the story about it.
In 2012, a friend of mine invited me to do something funny, because I was very sad in that time. So, she invited me to trekking with her other friends. I accepted the invitation, and we went to the “Saltos de Apoquindo”.  It is a very nice place and so near of Santiago. It is a wonderful place to trekking because there are a lot of plants and there is a river with drinkable water and a waterfall too.  The path is very well mark, so is very difficult get lose.
At the end of the track after of three or four hours of trekking, you can find the “Saltos de Apoquindo” that is a very beauty waterfall. In that place we lunch and rest. The photograph was taken in that place for mi friend Gianina, who had invited to me to go trekking as well.
I enjoyed so much that walk, and made me very happy. I like so much that place, and I visit it when I can.

Website of the day: Scribd

One of the favorite websites of mine is Scribd.com. Scribd is like a ciber-library where you can find so many different kinds of documents, books, essays, etc. The quality of the documents is great, because so many of them have been scan from the original text. I like Scribd above all, for the books that you can find in this site. I’m studying psychology and searching in this website I’ve found a lot of books that I cannot find in other websites.
In Scribd you can find books about Philosophy, Psychology, Politics, Epistemology, Psychiatry, Education, History and other academic topics, but you can also find magazines, cook books, travel magazines, essays, novels, poems, etc.
For use Scribd, you must to create an account in the website. You can access with your Facebook account too. Then you can search the document that you are looking for in the option Explore, and that’s it.
Another advantage of this website is when you finally find the document, you can download for free or, if you prefer, save it in your “Favorites”.  This way you can use less memory of your computer and find quickly the document into the website.
